Privacy Policy for Green AI

1. Introduction
Green AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices regarding the Green AI Android application (“the App”). The App is designed with privacy as its foundation, operating predominantly offline and on-device.

2. Data Controller and Data Protection Officer (DPO)

3. Data Collection, Usage, and Endpoints
Green AI does not collect, track, store, or transmit your personal data, chat queries, or inference history to any external servers.

  • Chat Data: All user inputs, prompts, and the resulting AI-generated conversations are securely processed and stored entirely on your local device.
  • No Telemetry or Analytics: The App does not include third-party analytics, tracking SDKs, or crash-reporting tools. We do not gather telemetry or app usage behavior data.
  • Why we process data (Purpose of Collection): Any strictly local data processing ensures the operational functionality of the app (generating conversational AI responses locally).
  • Endpoints: We do not transmit any user data to any external endpoints.

4. Legal Basis for Processing
To the extent any local processing is considered data processing under applicable laws, our legal basis for processing your data is Legitimate Interest (to provide you with the App’s core functionality) and Consent (which you provide by using the App).

5. Sale and Sharing of Personal Data and Opt-Out Rights

  • Right to Know: You have the right to know whether your personal data is shared or sold. We explicitly state that we do not sell your personal data and we do not share your personal data with any third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purposes.
  • How to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt-out of the sharing or selling of your personal data, as well as the right to opt-out of targeted advertising. To explicitly exercise how you opt-out of the sharing or selling of your data, you can email your request to us at greenai@parishkaar.com. Because we never sell or share your data in the first place, your data automatically remains entirely private.

6. On-Device Processing (llama.cpp) and Network Access
To ensure your data never leaves your device, the App utilizes llama.cpp to run the Large Language Model (LLM) locally. When you type a prompt, it is securely processed by the model within your device’s memory. No conversational data is sent to the cloud.

The App requires internet access (INTERNET permission) strictly for a one-time operation:

  • Downloading the AI Model: On the first launch, the App connects to a third-party model hosting platform (Hugging Face / huggingface.co) to download the Gemma 2 model file.
  • Once the model is successfully downloaded, Green AI can function completely offline.

7. Permissions
The App requests the following permissions:

  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Used exclusively to show the progress of the model download. This permission is not used for any marketing or data collection purposes.
  • INTERNET: Used strictly to download the required LLM model directly to your device.

8. Data Retention
We do not retain your personal data on any servers. Your chat history is stored locally on your device within the app’s protected sandbox directory. This local data is retained indefinitely until you choose to delete it, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App.

9. Your User Rights (Access, Correction, and Deletion)
Because we do not store your data on our servers, you have full and direct control over it. You have the right to:

  • Request Access: You can view all your stored chat data directly within the App.
  • Request Correction: If any locally generated content is inaccurate, you can modify it or continue the chat to correct the context. Because we do not host your data, we cannot correct it for you.
  • Request Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. You can delete your chat history at any time by utilizing the “New Chat / Clear Chat” functionality within the App, or by clearing the App’s storage via your Android device’s system settings.

10. Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on your region, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:

  • European Union (GDPR) and UK: You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your Member State if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.
  • California (CCPA / CPRA): You have the right to know what personal data is being collected about you, the right to request deletion of your data, the right to correct inaccurate data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal data, and therefore, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” opt-out is unnecessary.
  • Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA): You have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, access your data, correct inaccuracies, delete your data, and opt-out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or profiling. We do not engage in any of these practices.
  • Brazil (LGPD): You have the right to confirmation of the existence of processing, access to data, correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data, anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary data, and information about public and private entities with which the controller has shared data.
  • South Korea (PIPA) and China (PIPL): We comply with data minimization and transparency requirements set forth by PIPA and PIPL. You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data, and to contact our local Data Protection Officer for any privacy concerns.

11. Third-Party Links and Services
The App connects to huggingface.co purely for downloading the initial model file. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Hugging Face. We encourage you to review their privacy policy if you have concerns regarding the download phase.

12. Children’s Privacy
Green AI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or higher age thresholds defined by local laws like COPPA), as no personal information is collected from any user.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or regulatory requirements. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document.
